"The regimental orchestra grasps again your soul!" The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation performed at the Christmas Festival of Arts

On 18 December, the Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation gave its only concert in Novosibirsk in the frames of the International Christmas Festival of Arts.

In the concert also participated: the head of the orchestra, Honored Artist of Russia, People's Artist of the Republic of Dagestan Colonel Sergei Durygin; chief of the military orchestral service of the RF Armed Forces, chief military conductor, honored artist of Russia Colonel Timothy Mayakin, soloists of the orchestra, Novosibirsk musicians.

The Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation is the leading team of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and one of the most famous orchestras of the world, founded in 1927.

The orchestra consists of two independent ensembles - wind and symphony, on the basis of which the wind and variety ensembles are created.

At the concert in Novosibirsk the orchestra presented the best of its extensive repertoire. In the first part - classical music: Ippolitov-Ivanov's “Jubilee March”, Smetana's “The Bartered Bride”, “Polovtsian Dances” from the opera “Prince Igor” by Borodin, orchestral marches and dances.

In the second part the audience saw that "light genre" is not alien to military musicians: songs from Soviet movies, plays for a brass band, arrangements of folk melodies were performed.

This evening on the stage of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall Novosibirsk musicians also performed who are connected to the orchestra and its soloists by years of military service: the Honored artist of Russia, artistic director of the jazz orchestra "Siberian Dixieland", trumpet player Sergey Gershenovich, and in the play "Conversation with sordino", the honored worker of culture of the Russian Federation, the art director and the chief conductor of the Novosibirsk city wind orchestra Igor Zugrov received the conductor’s button from Sergei Durygin.

In the end of the concert the best examples of Soviet and Russian song classics were performed by soloists of the orchestra: songs by Pakhmutova, Kolmanovsky, Khalilov on the verses of Dobronravov, Vanshenkin, Sergeyev.
