The opening of the Sixth Trans-Siberian Art Festival will take place tomorrow at Arnold Kats State Concert Hall

On March the 21st Trans-Siberian Art Festival – one of the most large-scale and significant projects, having a worldwide fame – begins its sixth session in Novosibirsk Philharmonic.

The artistic director of the Festival, Vadim Repin, has designated the organization of performances at Novosibirsk concert venues of leading world-class artists as the main principle of the program. As part of the 6th Trans-Siberian Art Festival, concerts will be held with the participation of conductors Tugan Sokhiev, Charles Dutoit (Switzerland), Yan Pascal Tortelier (France), Muhai Tang (China), who will present to the Russian public the mastery of the Harbin Symphony Orchestra, pianists Konstantin Lifschitz (Switzerland), Denis Kozhukhin, Sergey Tarasov, Andrey Korobeinikov, Claudia Yang (Malaysia, China), violinists Daniel Lozakovich (Sweden), Roman Simovich (Montenegro), Sergey Dogadin, cellists Antonio Meneses (Brazil), Alexander Knyazev and many their others.

At the sixth edition of the forum, the significant tradition of the premiere performance of works by contemporary composers will be continued. Two out of three announced this year's premieres will be presented in Novosibirsk. On March the 25th in the framework of the project “Made in Siberia”, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will perform an essay “The Music of the Sea” by Novosibirsk composer Boris Lisitsyn; On April the 8th Vadim Repin will present the Concerto for violin and orchestra by Alexander Raskatov dedicated to him.

The Trans-Siberian Art Festival presents large-scale educational projects in the city. Among them, the Trans-Siberian TONALi-tour, which is carried out in our city for the third year. This is a cultural and educational project in which students "test" the profession of the production and concert cycle. In addition, in Novosibirsk, for the second time, events of the Academy of Art Journalism will take place, including open lectures, master classes, round tables and creative meetings with leading journalists of the country. This year, the main lecturers of the Academy will be teachers of the Higher School of Economics.
