Soundtrack to the anime and popular Japanese music will be performed by Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra conducted by a female conductor

On 10th of December Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra presents a program "Howl's Moving Castle" where they perform a medley of traditional Japanese folk songs and music of anime. The orchestra will be conducted by Japanese Nami Fujisaki. 

On 10th of December Arnold Kats State Concert Hall will host the program "Howl's Moving Castle," which will present compositions by Yasushi Akutagawa, a medley of traditional Japanese folk songs and music from anime. Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra conducted by Japanese Nami Fujisaki will perform music from such well-known anime as "Princess Mononoke," "My Neighbor Totoro", "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds", "Howl's Moving Castle." Also in the program there is Triptych for string orchestra by Japanese composer of XX century Yasushi Akutagawa and a medley of traditional Japanese folk songs arranged by the conductor of the program.

 «Programs based on the music from the anime in Japan are very popular and has long been included in the repertoire of most orchestras - notes Julia Rubina, concertmaster of Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. – The performing in Novosibirsk the music from the most famous anime is an interesting experience for the musicians and for the audience. To be noticed, that it’s not the first time when the collective performs music by Japanese composers - in 2014 in the frameworks of the festival "Classics" we presented the music from video games, and in February 2016 we performed the compositions from Miyazaki animated movies”.

Nami Fujisaki had an extensive training with the famous Japanese masters. Nami performs Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Beethoven, Dvorak with the major orchestras in her homeland.

Yasushi Akutagawa is one of Japan's most prominent composers. Akutagawa’s creative work rooted in national motives, and his music is extremely colorful.
