On 11 December in Novosibirsk the solemn closing of the XI International Christmas Festival of Arts took place. One of the most in demand opera singers of our time Hibla Gerzmava and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra with the Principal Guest Conductor Fabio Mastrangelo (Russia-Italy) appeared on the stage of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.
The events of the XI International Christmas Festival of Arts were held in four concert venues of Novosibirsk: Arnold Kats State Concert Hall, the Philharmonic Chamber Hall, the theater "Globe" and the Palace of Scientists of Academgorodok. The program of the festival included 19 events that were attended by more than 10 thousand people.
"The interest shown in our city to modern programs and performances, gives reason to believe that the new art if created professionally doesn’t need explanations and people get real pleasure from what they see. Non-negation of contemporary art at the festival is a step forward", - says Tatiana Lyudmilina, the director of the Christmas Festival of Arts, the general director of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society.
Together with invited stars the Ensembles of Novosibirsk State philharmonic society took part in the festival projects: Novosibirsk Philharmonic orchestra, Chamber orchestra, ensemble of soloists “Novosibirsk Camerata”, Filarmonica-quartet, Chamber Choir, Vladimir Tolkachev Big Band. The stars of the festival: actors Sergey Garmash, Alexander Filippenko, Olga Volkova, Adam Darius, singer Hibla Gerzmava, pianists Barry Douglas and Alexander Palei, Daniil Kramer jazz trio, ensemble of ancient sacred music “Sirin”, chamber orchestra I Virtuosi Italiani, Tomsk academic symphony orchestra and many others.
Along with the tour projects the city program of the festival includes 37 cultural events prepared by the cultural institutions of Novosibirsk. In the frames of the festival 22 cultural events were realized in Novosibirsk region that were attended by more than 1750 persons.
The Festival included the off-program with the workshops from the star participants.
Organizers of the XI International Festival of Arts: Government of Novosibirsk region, Ministry of culture of Novosibirsk Region, Novosibirsk State Philharmonic society. The Festival was supported by German Goethe cultural center in Novosibirsk, Italian cultural center in Moscow, Embassy of Italia in Russia, and Polish cultural center in Moscow.
