Novosibirsk Philharmonic holds hip-hop concert at the festival Sib Jazz Fest
On 21st of October in Arnold Kats State Concert Hall there will take place performance of hip-hop jazz trio Sax Machine. The performance of French collective will be held in the framework of the International Festival Sib Jazz Fest and will become the second hip-hop concert for the 80-year history of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society.
On 21st of October hip-hop jazz trio Sax Machine, including saxophonist Guillaume Seine, trombonist Pierre Danden and rapper RacecaR, perform at jazz loft of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.
"Sax Machine incredibly successfully performed at the saxophone festival a year ago, and we thought it will be a good idea to invite the collective to a jazz festival. Sib Jazz Fest will present to public jazz in all its variety of styles, including the hip-hop breaking thank to performance of the French collective - says Beibit Mukhamedin, Director General of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society - These musicians create an incredibly relaxed atmosphere and I think, I will not be mistaken if I say - collect the most informal audience of all the possibilities we have. If you want to break down stereotypes about the Philharmonic - come to us this evening".
In its music Sax Machine combines jazz, hip-hop, funk, Afrobeat, blues, classical, avant-garde and pop. Saxophonist Guillaume Saint and trombonist Pierre Danden with the sound of live instruments provide the basis for e-mix, which is superimposed on a rap performed by RacecaR The performance of Sax Machine will take place at a very informal venue of Philharmonic – jazz loft of Arnold Kats State Concert Hall.
The international festival Sib Jazz Fest will be held in Novosibirsk from 20 to 22 October. Its program has collected all the variety of genres of modern jazz. Among the stars of the Festival there are Tony Kofi Quartet (United Kingdom), Motion Trio (Poland), Amsterdam Klezmer Band (Netherlands), trio "Good Evening" (Russia), Stephan Belmondo Trio (France), Sylvia Howard (United States), the hip-Hopf jazz trio Sax Machine (France), Oleg Akkuratov (Russia). Together with the stars of the festival at the stage there are Philharmonic collectives: Vladimir Tolkachev Big Band and jazz orchestra "Siberian Dixieland". The motto of the festival Sib Jazz Fest is «There is jazz in each of us. Listen to your own!"
The project will be held for the sixth time and for the second time at the new Philharmonic hall – Arnold Kats State Concert Hall, both at the main stage and at jazz loft. First time in the history of the Festival in most concerts sound engineers from abroad will work at audio remote control, among them there will be Andreas Adelhofer, who is marked by the cooperation with such stars as Joe Cocker, ZZ Top and Backstreet Boys.
The organizer of the festival is Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society. Partners of the festival are VTB24, public company Moscow Exchange, jazz club "Truba". Motion Trio concert is supported by Polish Culture Centre in Moscow and Ltd "Bella Siberia" (cosmetics and hygiene products for the whole family).
