On 3rd of April in Novosibirsk Trans-Siberian Art Festival was finished with a concert by Vadim Repin, Alexander Buzlov and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gintaras Rinkevicius. For 20 days the events of the festival - concerts and master classes - were attended by about 17 thousand people. Another 6 thousand people watched the online broadcast of the concerts of the festival. For the first time in the history of the project, tickets for most concerts were sold out long before the start of the festival.

On 3rd of April in Novosibirsk the 4th Trans-Siberian Art Festival was completed. The largest music forum in the region opened on March 15th with a concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk Philharmonic. The whole festival this year was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk region. Concert “Alma mater” was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Novosibirsk Conservatory.

The program of the forum included 15 concert programs - 12 in Novosibirsk and 3 in the cities of the Novosibirsk region - Ordynskoye, Iskitim and Berdsk; two film screenings of Bruno Monsaingeon's films with the author's participation and 20 master classes of the festival's stars. In the final concert of the festival Vadim Repin, Alexander Buzlov and Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Gintaras Rinkevicius performed the compositions of Tchaikovsky and Brahms.

"The main result of this year is that the public began to trust us. Of the 12 concerts that were held in Novosibirsk 10 were sold out in advance and two were close to it. We have never had such a situation before. Previously, people went to the well-known names, now we have a feeling that for the audience the brand of the festival is a guarantee that the quality of the concert will be high, regardless of whether the soloist is known in Novosibirsk or not", said Oleg Bely, director of the festival.

For 20 days 68 invited musicians from more than 20 countries performed in Novosibirsk, 10 of them were conductors, including Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Lawrence Foster, Gintaras Rinkevicius, Ilia Korol, Andris Poga and many others. The program of the festival involved 11 Novosibirsk collectives – those are 670 people. First of all, among them there are Novosibirsk Philharmonic’s collectives: Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, which took part in five programs, Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra performed in two concerts, Novosibirsk Choir Chapel and String Quartet Filarmonica. "All these people communicated - not only personally but also creatively - with the visiting stars, and it seems to us that this is not only one of the results, but also one of the goals of the festival," said Oleg Bely.

The words of gratitude to Vadim Repin, the artistic director of the festival, was delivered at the final concert by the Governor of Novosibirsk Region Vladimir Gorodetsky: "Vadim is not only a unique master, but also a person who knows how to unite around himself. Thanks to him, real stars come to us. Let's say thank you for his patriotism, warm sincere love for his small homeland and the desire to do something good. It is all the more gratifying that this festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk Region".

Vadim Repin emphasized the exceptional role played by Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra in the implementation of the festival: "Once again I want to express my admiration for your readiness for dialogue," the musician addressed the team. "For me it's a great happiness - to perform with you for over 40 years. And every time I stand and feel back your support - it's always a special feeling. You are, in my opinion, one of the whales of the whole idea of this festival. Therefore, I thank you so much and congratulate you on your next success".

Vladimir Kaluzhsky, artistic director of Novosibirsk Philharmonic, noted: "The festival is a window into the musical world, this time it was very wide open, we saw and heard a lot. And Novosibirsk as a cultural city was enriched not only by acquaintance with outstanding performers, but also with what is happening in the world from the performing trends point of view".

The innovation of the IV Trans-Siberian Art Festival was a powerful educational program, first realized on such a serious scale. Its main platform was the House of Culture "Energia", its program included 20 master classes and creative meetings. About 60 people participated in the master classes and the number of spectators was about 3.5 thousand people. Among them there were representatives of more than 50 educational institutions of Novosibirsk region, representatives of near abroad countries, there was even one participant from Moscow, who flew specially to the master class of Alexander Knyazev.

The invited Chamber collective this year was the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi”, at the concert Vadim Repin played for the first time in a duet with the head of the collective Vladimir Spivakov. For the first time in the history of the festival its program featured a vocal and symphonic composition - "Passion for John" by Bach was performed by Novosibirsk Choir Chapel, Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and the international team of singers under the direction of Ilia Korol. The first concert devoted to the forthcoming anniversary of the legendary conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev was held in Novosibirsk. He highly appreciated Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra. In the final concert of the festival, instead of Leonidas Kavakos, announced earlier, Vadim Repin and Alexander Buzlov performed.

Among the festival's stars there are Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Lawrence Foster, Nicholas Angelich, Leonard Schreiber, Pablo Ferrandes, Alexander Knyazev and other musicians.

Arnold Kats State Concert Hall permanently remains the main venue of the festival – it is a new Philharmonic Hall, which was opened in 2013 and, according to Vadim Repin, became one of the necessary conditions for the implementation of the idea of the festival.

The first Trans-Siberian Art Festival was held in March-April 2014, it was dedicated to the memory of the conductor Arnold Kats, who created in 1956 Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra and directed it until passing away in 2007.
