International music festival “Classics” took place in Novosibirsk in December

The second International music festival “Classics”, which united concerts of world music and Novosibirsk collectives, took place at Novosibirsk Philharmonics from 5 to 20 December. The program included classical music in its wide sense – both classical music of XX century and classics of the future.

         The following musicians took part in the festival: Yury Bashmet and “Moscow soloists” chamber ensemble, world known accordion and bandoneon player Richard Galliano (France), French pianist Tom Grimaud, unique Russian horn orchestra, Moscow harpsichord player Stanislav Gres. Collectives of Novosibirsk Philharmonics performed along with the invited musicians: Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra offered the program consisting of Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev and Ravel, Chamber orchestra played with Richard Galliano and also presented a program of computer games music conducted by a Japanese conductor Kenichi Simura, ensemble of soloists “Novosibirsk Kamerata” performed Alfred Schnittke, “Filarmonica”-quartet played a program of popular music –from Mozart of Strauss.
