Ensemble "Markell's Voices" sang in a grandiose choir competition on the streets of Moscow 16 times a capella

From 2nd to 6th of May the ensemble of Novosibirsk Philharmonic "Markell's Voices" performed 14 times on the streets of Moscow with a capella programs. Performances were held within the framework of the contest "Moscow Spring a Capella". Festival venues were visited by more than 4 million people, and all in the contest participants performed about 8,000 songs.

From April 28th to May 7th in the capital city for the first time was held an international contest "Moscow Spring a capella". In terms of the number of participants and venues, the contest, along with similar events in the US and Austria, was among the largest in the world. More than 250 applications from 12 countries were received to participate in the contest. 168 solo performers and music bands went on the main tour and got a chance to compete for a prize fund of 17 million rubles.

“The festival impressed me by its scale and high level of organization. As a rule, performances at outdoor venues are always close to extreme, but no external factors affected the quality of our concerts - the sound was perfect”, says Igor Tyuvaev, artistic director of the ensemble "Markell's Voices". As it was previously noted by Igor Tuvaev, participation in the festival of this level is extremely important also because it is a unique opportunity to communicate with colleagues.

"Markell's Voices" performed at the contest from 2nd to 6th of May, all in all musicians gave 14 concerts. In the contest program they performed foreign variety, soviet music, and also Russian and Georgian folklore.
