English orchestra, recorded the soundtrack for the film «Pride and Prejudice», will perform at the Trans-Siberian Art Festival

On April 6 – at Arnold Kats State concert hall and on April 7 – at the Palace of Science of Academgorodok – there will be the concerts of English Chamber orchestra – the only invited ensemble in the program of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. On April 6 Nikolay Lugansky (piano) and Mario Brunello (cello) will perform with the orchestra conducted by Gintaras Rinkevicius (principal conductor and artistic director of Novosibirsk philharmonic orchestra). One will hear Symphony №9 by Beethoven, Concert for cello and orchestra by Schumann and Concert №2 for piano by Chopin. On April 7 at the Academgorodok Mario Brunello will play solo again at the Concert for cello and orchestra by Schumann, Vadim Repin will perform the Concerto for violin and orchestra №2 by Prokofiev, also Symphony №2 will be performed, conductor Gintaras Rinkevicius.

English Chamber Orchestra is the most recorded chamber orchestra in the world. The discography includes 857 recordings of more than 1 500 works. The orchestra had been collaborated closely with the largest English composer of the XX century Benjamin Britten: was the first performer of the opera «Midsummer Night's Dream» and some of his other works, Britten repeatedly conducted the orchestra.

The orchestra is known by its recordings of movie and television series soundtracks, including, in particular, the original soundtracks of the composer Dario Marianelli to the films «Pride and Prejudice» and «Atonement.» Also part of «Simple Symphony» by Benjamin Britten performed by English Chamber Orchestra entered the soundtrack of the film «Moonrise Kingdom.»
