Conductor Fabio Mastrangelo received an order “Stella d’Italia”
On 15 May the principal guest conductor of Novosibirsk academic symphony orchestra and artistic leader of the ensemble of soloists “Novosibirsk Kamerata” Fabio Mastrangelo was awarded with the order “Stella d’Italia”. The order was given for the contribution into the development of relations and collaboration between Italy and Russia and also for the distribution of Italian culture outside the country. Fabio Mastrangelo received this prestigious governmental republic award on the stage of “Music Hall” from the General Counsellor of Italy.
Earlier the following musicians received this award: violinist, conductor, people’s artist of Russia Vladimir Spivakov; artistic director of D.D. Schostakovich Saint-Petersburg Philharmonics, people’s artist of USSR Yury Temirkanov; people’s artist of Russia Yury Lyubimov.
The order “Stella d’Italia” was established in 1947 and is the state award of the Italian Republic. The order is given to the Italian citizens living abroad and foreigners for special merits in the development of friendly relations and collaboration between Italy and other countries. The award is given by the President of Italy upon the suggestion of the minister of foreign affairs.
