A concert of the Mariinsky Theater Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev was held in Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society
On May the 3rd Novosibirsk Philharmonic hosted colleagues from St. Petersburg: at the XVIII Moscow Easter Festival, there was held a concert of Mariinsky Theater Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev.
The Moscow Easter Festival is held for the eighteenth time with the support of the Government of Moscow, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. Over the years the Festival has become one of the largest and most anticipated cultural projects in Russia. The geography of the eighteenth issue of the forum covers 23 cities of our country including Novosibirsk.
“We do not miss the opportunity to perform in the largest cities of our country. And Novosibirsk is definitely in our tour map, despite the fact that this year the route is very difficult: we need to get back to Moscow on time to participate in the traditional concert on Poklonnaya Hill on May the 9th.
The new hall of Novosibirsk Philharmonic is definitely good. I believe that its very appearance in Novosibirsk is a very gratifying fact for all Russian culture”, said Valery Gergiev.
In Arnold Kats State Concert Hall on 3rd of May Mariinsky Theater Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev performed the following masterpieces of the symphony repertoire: Prokofiev's Classical Symphony, Mendelssohn's Italian Symphony and Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony.
