7 february 2017, 15:10
Vadim Repin’s Fourth Trans-Siberian Art Festival will be held in Novosibirsk for the fourth time from 15th of March to 3rd of April. In 2017 the festival will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk region. Some concerts are also devoted to the 80th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society and the 60th anniversary of Novosibirsk State Conservatory. At the moment the sales of tickets for the festival program reached 60% - this is the highest percentage of implementation yet a month before in the history of Trans-Siberian Art Festival.

“We decided to dedicate the fourth festival to Novosibirsk region, which is 80 years old. Novosibirsk Philharmonic is also 80 years, we decided to dedicate the concert-opening of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival to this event - said the artistic director of the festival, violinist Vadim Repin. - "Despite the fact that the first significant anniversary of the festival will be just next year, this year's program is very diverse. Musicians, soloists and even directors of top-class come to the festival”.

The concert-opening is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society - the biggest concert organizations in the country, being the main partner of Vadim Repin in the organization and implementation of the festival from the beginning of its history. Leading collective of Philharmonic – Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra – will perform at the concert on 15th of March. American music program will sound under the baton of Lawrence Foster (USA), soloist is pianist Dana Ciocarlie (France).

“During four years with the efforts of the creators of the festival the door to the world music culture is opened. Because we know very little about what is happening in the world, what number of talented musicians from different countries and generations there are”, - says the artistic director of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Vladimir Kaluzhsky.

The concert on 20th of March will be devoted to 60th anniversary of Novosibirsk Conservatory, where graduates from Zakhar Bron’s class Vadim Repin and Natalia Prishchepenko will perform together with student collectives. Conductor is Alexey Shatsky.

Traditionally in the frameworks of the festival there will be concerts in the cities of Novosibirsk Region - Iskitim, Ordynskoye and Berdsk. The festival program will include traditional project "Children - to children", a program of chamber music, Bruno Monsaingeon’s films screenings and creative meeting with him, as well as many other events. Invited team of this year's festival will be the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi".

Among the stars of the festival there are Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Nicholas Angelich, Leonard Schreiber, Pablo Ferrandez, Alexander Knyazev and other musicians.

“Conductor Andris Poga is originally from the Baltic States, and cellist Pablo Ferrandez is from Spain. From the explosion of opposites you can get a very interesting dialogue, - says Vadim Repin. - Ferrandez performs one of the greatest concert of Dvorak. This artist is very young, star, and despite a very young age, this star already shines”.

Concert "Ice and Flames" will be held on March 24th.

A premier in the framework of the festival will be a concert on March 25th for the piccolo trumpet, flugelhorn and orchestra by Enjott Schneider Dreamdancers. To be noted that for the first time in the history of Trans-Siberian Art Festival, the world premiere was not written for solo violin.

One of the key participants of the project is invariably Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, which will perform in five programs. Vadim Repin has repeatedly emphasized the crucial role played by the collective in the implementation plan of the Trans-Siberian Art Festival. Also in the festival concerts will perform such collectives as Novosibirsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Choir Chapel, string quartet Filarmonica.

“A few years ago I was in New York, and in the next room Carmignola performed Vivaldi program, he left me shocked. I invited him for three years and I am confident that our string players have never seen anything like this before - said Repin. - Authentic Vivaldi's performing always causes a lot of questions, to find the truth is hard as well, you can’t have a look at how it truly was. And here it is important the impression, that might be so convincing that you just throw up your hands and takes off your hat. I am particularly happy that he has found the date and will hold a second concert with our Chamber Orchestra, which I also love”.

The program "Vivaldissimo" will be held on March 16th.

Arnold Kats State Concert Hall permanently remains the main venue of the festival – it is a new Philharmonic Hall, which was opened in 2013 and, according to Vadim Repin, became one of the necessary conditions for the implementation of the idea of the festival.

The first Trans-Siberian Art Festival was held in March-April 2014, it was dedicated to the memory of the conductor Arnold Kats, who created in 1956 Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra and directed it until passing away in 2007. In three years of the festival existence in Novosibirsk, thank to it, performed such musicians as Charles Dutoit, Leonard Slatkin, Kent Nagano, Olga Borodina, Lera Auerbach, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Svetlana Zakharova, Rudolf Buchbinder, Pinchas Zukerman, Mischa Maisky, Daniil Trifonov and many others .
